Voice Mode has been completely rebuilt, and it’s now one of Astro’s best features yet.
1. Smarter Microphone Activation

The microphone now activates only after speech playback (TTS) finishes, preventing interruptions.

Added proper start, completion, and error handlers for more reliable state management.

Auto-restart listening now happens 500ms after speech ends, not during it.
2. Improved End-of-Speech Detection

Reduced pause detection from 3s to 2s for quicker responsiveness.

Extended total listen time to 45s for longer thoughts.

Improved accuracy with new confirmation logic and the latest SpeechListenOptions API.
3. Cleaner Speech Output
- Voice responses now filter out internal “Consider” text blocks, so Astro only speaks the intended message.

The entire voice experience has been reimagined:
